Where do the structures I build go

Has anyone wondered where kits I build end up. Here are some of them. I hope the other ones are on someones layout as well.

Project Update: Ideal Hosiery by FOS Scale Models

The Winter Olympics are over. Hopefully that will result in better productivity. I can't say I have done nothing during the Games though. I have applied dirt, grass, and have prepared the road for final application of paint. Figure painting is underway. I am making some details as well. Can't wait until I can do landscaping work. It is like gardening only is chaotic and offers instant gratification.

Project Update: Ideal Hosiery by FOS Scale Models

It is hard to get anything done during Olympics. It may not be big of a deal for many people but I grew up watching them. Winter Games are my favorite. I find cross country skiing or biathlon very relaxing. As a kid after watching one of the races I drew start and finish lines on the floor with chalk and raced around the table. I hated cross country skiing when I actually had to do it during PE in school. I had quite few reasons for that. I didn't have proper equipment. My skis would come off constantly. We were pushed for a result and I had to drag my skis to school and back every day we had PE. I would love to do some cross country skiing now but here in Georgia we just don't have the conditions. Few years ago we went to West Virginia in hopes to be able to do it there but all snow melted away before we arrived. Had I had equipment I could have done some skiing last week. I've heard someone actually was skiing in Piedmont park.
Despite being more couch potato past week than usual I've got something done. I have glued down both structures to the base. I've used epoxy since next step involves water. I don't want my structures pop out of place if glue gets dissolved.

Project Update: Ideal Hosiery by FOS Scale Models

Almost daily I visit GPM web site to check what is new in paper modeling world. GPM prints its own and as well sells model kits of other manufacturers. Today I dug deeper than usual and came to realization how much I have missed over the past few years. Is this the sign that it is time to switch back? Possibly. I think I have learned few tricks that I could successfully apply in paper modeling and make my models better. Cross pollination is a good thing. I shouldn't jump in with both my feet and build Halinski model though. Halinski models fit together very well but have large number of parts. Some of them are very small. It requires a lot of patience to build models like that. I am thinking maybe Maly Modelarz kit would be the right one for the time being. I'll let this idea to simmer for a little bit. The Olympics are underway and I don't spend much time modeling. After all Winter Olympics are my favorite. I like them better than Summer.
What all of this has to do with Ideal Hosiery? Nothing at all. I just felt like going off topic. Lets get back though.
I have applied Sculptamold and light weight spackle and painted everything brown. Before I applied  Sculptamold I mixed in some black and brown tempura paint powder. While wet mixture looked very dark after it dried it turned into light pink. I did this as an experiment. The idea is to color Sculptamold so I don't have to paint it over. Plus I have a lot of tempura paint powder and nothing to use it for. I bought it because I wanted to do zip texturing but it didn't work out. That powder has to be good for something.
I have finished the shed as well. To weather the roof I used George Sellios method from Elijah Roth kit. It didn't turn exactly the way I expected. I wanted more rust build up at the seams and less of it everywhere else. Anyway, it isn't a big of a deal and I can live with what I have.
The next step is to glue structures down. All I need is to find some free time. Our office may get closed  tomorrow due to freezing rain. The opportunity for some modeling is right there but only if power lines don't go down...

What's in the box: Hokum's House of Burlesque by FOS Scale Models

I have no idea who this Hokum guy is but I wouldn't mind at all if someone named such business after me. Looks like fun place to be around.

Project Update: Texaco Gas Station by Micro-scale Models

I am performing my victory dance. Not literally. More like mentally. Although I may have danced for real after applying finishing touches to the Gas Station. What is the reason for such celebration? This project should have been finished ions ago but few setbacks pushed it to the background. Bringing projects back to foreground for me present quite a challenge but I did it. Therefore, I think I have good reason for my victory dance.

What's in the box: Rankin's Steakhouse by FOS Scale Models

Our office was closed one day last week during Snowmageddon so I had some unexpected free time. I worked on my projects and then I was taking pictures of them when I remembered my WITB project and how I had pretty much abandoned it. So I grabbed few boxes off of the shelf and took some shots of their content. I have more kits I could do WITB on but they all are behind other kits on the shelf and they are so nicely stacked. This is downside of being organized. One of the days I will pull them out and photograph but for now I have 7 kits that were easy to access.
First up is Rankin's Steakhouse by FOS Scale Models. It is hard to believe it has been entire year since its release.
